Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for December 18th - 22nd, 2023

Happy Friday you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

The countdown is on; 10 more days until Christmas!  But remember, Thanksgiving Day is not just at Thanksgiving time – we should be giving thanks every day!  Remembrance Day should not just be celebrated on Nov 11th – we should be in deep gratitude and remembrance all year for those that love and protect us!  And last but certainly not least, there’s Christmas.  As Buddy-the-Elf shares in the Elf Code – “treat every day like Christmas!”

On that note, please have a gander at our final Hurricane WEEKLY Newsletter for December 18th – 22nd, 2023.  Soon, we’ll be into 2024 and picking up, right where we left off!

From the bottom of our Hurricane Hearts, we want to thank all of you for your tireless commitment and very generous support of our Annual Christmas Hamper Drive in partnership with Saint Vincent De Paul.  10 families in our community will have a better Christmas because of your over $1000 in monetary donations on SchoolCASH Online, the over $2500 in Gift Card donation, and multitude of gifts brought into the school – and it’s STILL COMING!  We can’t thank you enough Hurricanes, you always come through “for others!”  T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U!

In our newsletter attachment, you will see that registration for Kindergarten 2024-2024 is NOW OPEN!  Please help us spread the word to your friends, neighbours and families.  That helps us out a lot!

Our 12 Days of Christmas have been going extremely well at H.T.  Our Christmas Planning Team planned out and put together Christmas-themed STEM activities, Christmas-trivia, wellness events, spirit days and faith celebrations this week and next, to harness that high anticipation and increased joy that comes with Christmas approaching.  Thank you to our staff for their ongoing patience and openness with these days – they are admittedly high in energy!   There is a buzz in the air indeed!  Finally, a special thanks goes out to the classes who have beautifully led our Advent Mass and Liturgies.  They have really reinforced that “Peace at Christmas is not an absence of trouble, it’s the presence of Christ in our lives.”

Last but certainly not least, we wish all of you – our friends, family, students, neighbours, community partners, staff and relatives a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!   Hope everyone has a safe and rejuvenating b-r-e-a-k.  See everyone back on Monday, January 8th to keep showing #weCAN, #weCARE and #weCELEBRATE!

Take care of yourselves and each other Hurricanes!
