Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for December 11th - 15th, 2023

Dear A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricane Staff, Students and Families,

Please find attached our Hurricane WEEKLY Newsletter for Dec 11th – 15th, 2023

How many more days until Christmas?  You can definitely feel the energy in the air.  So we’ll keep this commentary short knowing how busy many of us are at this time.

We have so many activities going on in the school, we hope our students are having a good time making memories with their friends!  At the same time, we are cognizant that holidays can be a stressful or anxious time for many of our students.  Regardless, we’re trying hard to make everyone feel comfortable and safe while keeping the focus on our learning and faith.

Please consider participating in both the faith initiatives at the school or at the parish, to prepare a room in our hearts for Jesus.  You are welcome to attend the mass or liturgies at our school, or the Christmas Eve Children’s Mass at St. John Parish.  Father Valentine has been working so hard to engage the youth in our schools and in their faith development.  If you’re considering attending this mass, please encourage your child to join the choir that evening. Children singing is like “praying 1000 times over” and they sound like angels!  Please have your child sign and return to the school a commitment form if they are interested.  It is attached to this week’s newsletter eblast. The mass is December 24th @ 5pm.

Have a great rest this weekend everyone – don’t be too rushed running around, remind yourselves to slow down, as it’s been said that “the love Jesus Christ has for each one of us, weighs much more than any gold, material wealth or empty promise this world has to offer.”  Therefore, Christmas is a very important time to REFLECT on that promise God gives us, and to share that love He wants so desperately for us to be share with others… The gifts are all around us, we just need to remember that.  Be the HOPE, LOVE, PEACE and JOY!  BE THE GIFT to others…

Take care of yourselves and each other Hurricanes!
