Hurricane "WEEKLY" Newsletter - May 29th - June 2nd, 2023

Good afternoon you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

Please find attached out Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for May 29th - June 2nd, 2023, please have a look as we have updated all of the events coming up!  We hit June next week!

Just a reminder that we have another shortened week next week, with a Professional Activity Day on Friday, June 2nd, therefore there is no school.  Educators will be preparing Report Cards for Grades 1-8 students and Communication of Learning for Kindergarteners.

We are really grateful for two big events that took place this week.  Our H.T. Track and Field Day on Wednesday was a great day to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, friendships and of course, some healthy competition.  A special thank you to Mrs. Jackett, Mr. Schmalz and the dedicated team of educators for all the planning and organization that went on behind the scenes to "make-it-all-happen!"  In addition, thank you to our entire staff!   It was just another example of how well they balance learning with fun at H.T., thank you Hurricane educators for supporting and helping out at this event for the sake of our young people!

Also, today we facilitated our tree planting mission, continuing from past efforts to beautify and naturalize our playground areas.  We thank Mr. Kelly, the grade 7 leaders and again the entire staff who brought their classes out to work together and "get dirty!"  A shout-out to Mr. Glaab, our board's Healthy Active Living Resource Teacher for being an important catalyst and liaison between our school and Moritz Sanio, from TREES FOR GUELPH.  We couldn't have done this with out you!!  The plants, shrubs and trees will continue to grow as we do, and will help make our school continue to become an even better place than it already is!

Finally, let us reflect on the words of Bene Brown, an author, researcher, and storyteller.  Her work is on understanding COURAGE, VULNERABILITY and LEADERSHIP, 3 important facets in our lives as students, educators and parents!  She says this “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weakness.”  If we want to continue as she phrases it, DARING GREATLY as a Holy Trinity school community, than we have to continue to promise each other to have the courage ("heart") to be vulnerable - because this will truly transform the way we LIVE, LOVE, LEARN, TEACH, PARENT and LEAD!

Keep daring greatly Hurricanes!  And as always, take care of yourselves and each other!  Have a beautiful weekend :)
