It was a great week of celebration during Catholic Education Week! A very special thank you to Mrs. Karl and Mrs. Uyede who organized so many engaging events for our staff and students to reflect on their FAITH and to build COMMUNITY! Some highlights were the Open House on Thursday Night, the Talent Show and STEAM Challenge today and the class presentations on Self-Compassion by our Mental Health Clinician, Nicole Tallieu.
It was also Star Wars Day on May 4th, and as they say in the movie – “May the f-o-r-c-e be with you!” Some say there is a deep theology in Star Wars that can parallel and remind us how important our own faith and religion is in our lives. For example, the movie series has lasted the test of time over many generations of people. Like our faith, it is not a gimmick or something that goes away. Our faith is something that we can rely on every day of our lives and in every situation. We also learn in Star Wars that COMMUNITY takes precedent over individuality, the goal is always PEACE over war, everyone starts as a PADAWAN before becoming a master, the UNDERDOG always has hope and an opportunity for salvation and every character in the movie has to discern the presence of the force in their own lives AND how to always use it for good! Regardless if you are a Star Wars fan or not, just remember how during the tough times in your life, how you may have always found yourself relying on your faith. With that said, “May the F-A-I-T-H be with you Hurricanes!”

-Our planning for the Grade 8 year-end trip to Quebec is complete and the Class of 2023 is ready to go! We are so fortunate to be able to have this opportunity again!
-Great ready to climb next week Hurricanes! Guelph Grotto will be here and let's get some exercise and work on our co-operation to reach higher together!
-Mrs. Ingram continues to welcome visits from classes to see how the eggs are doing! By next week, we will definitely see some eggs hatching! Our kids have love this "hands-on" learning experience! Thank you Ingram family!
-We welcome FUTURE HURRICANE GRADS at our "Ready for School NEW KIndergarten Student/Parent Night" on Thursday, May 11th. If you know any friends, family or relatives who have yet to register, please invite them to call the school to discuss registration and let them know what a great place HT is!
Let's keep it short because the sun is shining this weekend... And instead of being on the computer, let's get out for some fresh air and exercise this weekend Hurricanes!
