Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for April 17th - 21st, 2023

Good afternoon you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

Please find attached, our Hurricane ‘WEEKLY’ Newsletter for April 17th – 21st

This week’s edition has many dates and events, and we probably could have included many more.  However, we just wanted to give folks a bit of a look forward.  Some highlights include the grade 8 Graduation Trip to Quebec, our Grade 2s receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, and Catholic Education Week which will see a number of planned activities to engage staff, students and parents in illuminating our faith and the learning that happens in our great school community!  But remember Hurricanes, it’s not about how MUCH or how MANY things we do – it’s about the HOW and WHY we do it;

"A community is a group of people who agree to GROW TOGETHER..."

A reminder from last week’s newsletter that St. James Catholic High School and its Elementary Family of School’s Catholic School Parent Councils have organized 2 excellent workshops for parents and educators to attend.  Please see information about both events on this week’s newsletter, and the attachment for a REGISTRATION LINK for the 1st of 2 events.  Thank you C.atholic S.chool C.ouncils (C.S.C.’s) for pooling the P.arents R.eaching O.ut Grants each school received from the Ministry of Education, and planned these two events to support the health and wellness of our young people!

"T.E.A.M. = T.ogether E.veryone A.chieves M.ore!"

Finally, we celebrated our recent school Mass with Father Valentine this past Thursday, April 13th.  We celebrated Easter and the gift of salvation God promises to each and everyone of us through His son Jesus’ victory over death.  The cross is an important symbol in our faith.  It reminds us of the two very important parts of EASTER – the crucifixion and the resurrection!  As we continue to awake ourselves and see new signs of growth and new life in nature this spring, please continue to accept growth in your own life.  God didn’t create us to be perfect, he created us with perfect love.  He knows our struggles and challenges.  Give yourselves permission to remind yourselves that God never expects us to be perfect, he only expects us to;

See God in all things, see God in all people, and love god in all things and people” just as His son did for us

Have a beautiful weekend Hurricanes!  Take care of yourselves and each other!
