Wait, what?!@$?  Yes, that's right, we're almost into April!  Time flies right?  So the next time you are dreading that "it's only Monday" and your dying for Friday to roll around, just remember that once that day is gone - you never get it back!  It's hard sometimes, but try to see the good in every day or avoid seeing one day or part of the week as better than another.  It's all good really!  The paradox of it all is we think our lives will be better if it's constant or comfortable.  But it's been said that "the only constant thing in life is change!"  That's a big pill to swallow.  So through all the ups and downs in our day, week, month or year - trust and hope that life will work itself out and we will always GROW through what we GO through!  With the outward changes of this spring season upon us, let it remind us that despite the constant cycle of change, the one thing that always remains constant is God's love for each and every one of us. Change brings new hope and new opportunities to restore, renew and rejuvenate ourselves.  This is the message of Lent and God desires to proves this to us with His promise of salvation through Jesus Christ at Easter.

Speaking of that, our Boys and Girls Volleyball Teams were perfect examples of this change.  Our girls celebrated capturing the large schools title this past week, while our boys lost a very tight, heart-breaking semi-final match.  So which program was more successful?  Depends how you see success and why you play sports.  For schools, it's about learning, growth, making friends, being part of something bigger than yourself, stretching your comfort zone, representing your school, pushing your limits, developing fitness and confidence, learning how to face difficulty and remembering there's more important things in life.  And based on those criteria, BOTH TEAMS WERE ABSOLUTE WINNERS!  Thank you to Coaches Melehes, Gibson, Kelly, Plat, Smith and Luzi for all your time and energy teaching these lessons to our young people!  If it's just about winning the s-c-o-r-e or getting an award, we all know that in life, we often lose much more often than we win and we won't always get an award even when deserved.  Moreover, we sometimes get awarded when undeserved. Even so, the strive for ACHIEVEMENT is indeed important, however the SUCCESS comes in the growth + learning = CHARACTER!  With that said, the school received so many emails and texts from spectators and parents with comments on what great ambassadors and competitors our Hurricane athletes were - congratulations Hurricanes, you all represented our school very well!  How do you think this made us feel!  When young people are kind, leaders, resilient and show their true goodness, that makes everyone feel like winners!  And even more important, remember to have gratitude Hurricanes! Remember (although we don't want to) those COVID times when we were unable to even have these opportunities?  So for that alone, what a success it has been!  Next up, Badminton!

Finally, we look forward to our up-and-coming, first-ever Faith Day @ H.T.!  It will be another wonderful day full of activities and opportunities to build community, deepen our faith and remind our young people and staff, that an "education of the SOUL, is just as important as an education of the MIND."  That's the promise of a Catholic Education and we can't thank you enough parents, for supporting us September through March in helping us to do this!  We've still got alot of work to do through April to June, but just remember not to wish or rush it away.  Let's savour each day as it comes - GOOD, BAD, UGLY or AMAZING, but we go through it together and we try to pull the goodness, learning, joy, character, growth, opportunities, strength and hope from it, rather than dwell on the threats, risks, anxieties or fears.  Fear is a liar.  Let's always go with God!  "With God, anything is possible who strengthen us."

Have a great weekend, take care of yourselves and each other Hurricanes!
