Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for June 17th - 21st, 2024

Good afternoon you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

Another week brings us only 2 weeks to the last day of school for 2023-2024!

Please see our Hurricane WEEKLY Newsletter for June 17th – 21st, 2024.  June is an interesting month.  It’s been very busy and as we say in the world of education, we are simply “winding-up” to “wind-down” for the summer!  But it’s all good – our school is full of kid’s laughter, joy, noise and excitement with all the fun activities like year-end trips!  At the same time, we know that for many of our young people the change in routine and unpredictability of the summer can cause great anxiety and worry.  So please see the resources attached for students and families, outlining resources available over July and August. In addition to the infographics attached, there will also be a specific offering for our grade 7-12 students at 4 Grove locations (Woolwich, Fergus, pop up Mount Forest and pop up Rockwood) Here is the calendar link below.  And folks from THE GROVE will have a booth at our June 25th Family-Fun-Night, so make sure to pay them a visit and learn more about their services.  They’re pretty cool!

Also, our good friends and community partners from Immigrant Services of Guelph and Wellington County would like to share their June Newsletter to any newcomer families by clicking this link News from Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington ( for all kinds of supports, information and up & coming activities.  They recently attended our Ready for School Kindergarten Orientation Night and they are such a great and supportive partner for our neighbourhood and school community!  Thank you friends!

A very B-I-G thank you for all the donations that have come in for our Family-Fun-Night taking place on Tuesday, June 25th from 4:30-7pm.  Your generosity is outstanding Hurricanes, we can’t believe how much has come in, WOW!!!  The donations collected by each class will be placed into themed-baskets, and raffled off that evening.  All funds will be donated to The Latin American Project: ONE by ONE.   Please visit to learn more.  Again, we cannot thank you enough – you always come through for others!

Last but certainly not least, sending out a Happy Father’s Day wish to all Hurricane Dads!  We hope in some way you are acknowledged, or at least reminded in your heart of the very special difference you have made in a young child’s life.  Have a wonderful day and may God bless you!

Have a great weekend everyone...  Keep taking care of yourself and of course, always keep taking care of each other!  We love our Hurricane School Community, and you are all a very important part of that!  Keep celebrating LIFE and EACH OTHER!
