Good evening you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

Well, that’s it, May is a wrap!  Next week is June and the home streeeetttccchhh of the school year, so please checkout our latest Hurricane WEEKLY Newsletter for June 3rd – 7th, 2024.

Lots of events happening of course around H.T. so here’s a brief summary;

  • We welcomed over 50 new year 1 Kindergarten students last night to our READY FOR SCHOOL Orientation Night! It was amazing to meet all the wonderful personalities and their 100+ family members!  They’ve all been invited to our Family-Fun-Night on June 25th to meet others in our community and to allow their children to become more comfortable with our school community!  So welcome “Lil’ Caners!”
  • The Wellington Catholic District School Board “large” schools track and field meet takes place on Thursday, June 13th. Please find an attached schedule should you want to come out and cheer our Hurricanes on!  The event takes place at St. James Secondary School.
  • Next Friday, June 7th is a Professional Development Day. Educators will be completing Term 2 Report Cards (Grade 1-8) and Communication of Learning for Kindergarten students.  Reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024.
  • And speaking of June 25th…Don’t forget about our Family-Fun-Night taking place on Tuesday, June 25th from 4:30-7pm. The theme is “Backyard Fun!”  Bring camp chairs, blankets and have a picnic!  Bring your own basket or purchase from our 5 food trucks.  There will be many FREE games and activities for our students!  Check out this week’s flyer created by the Graphic Communication class at St. James Catholic School in the M & T Co-op Specialist High Skills Major course.  Pretty slick!
  • A BIG congratulations to Mr. Stoop on his retirement today, serving his last day today for Wellington Catholic. We wish you the very best Monsieur Stoop, or should we say “Bonne Chance!”   Please help us welcome Madison Petryna who will join our Hurricane staff on Monday June 3rd in his place.  We know you will love Hurricane Country!
  • Finally, check out our “STAY C-O-N-N-E-C-T-E-D” Information page attached to this week’s newsletter! There are so many options to find out what’s going on at H.T!  No excuses everyone!

Have a wonderful weekend Hurricanes!  Enjoy the sunshine, and like we always say, take care of yourselves and each other!
