Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for May 20th - 24th, 2024

Good evening you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

Please find attached our Hurricane WEEKLY Newsletter for May 20th-24th, 2024.

With the long weekend here, we’ll keep this very short so you can enjoy more time with family, nature and/or some rest!

Some important shoutouts from this past week.  Thank you parent-volunteer, Mrs. Ingram, for your generous time and service providing the Chicken Learning Program” for our students over the past few weeks.  The children loved learning about the life cycle of chickens and God’s miracle of life!  More importantly, they were mesmerized by seeing the cycle transpire right before their very own eyes, from egg incubation - to hatching - to holding cute fluffy baby chicks right in the palm of their hands!

Thank you to our group of teachers who formed our Track and Field committee, you know who you are and YOU’RE AMAZING!  They organized a wonderful day of healthy and fun competition for our students.  There was a bit of rain, but we persevered and all-in-all, it turned out to be a fantastic day!  Can’t wait to see some of our athletes move on to the Wellington Catholic “large” schools meet in early June!

Also, a thank you to our Student Wellness Club for organizing a terrific “Wellness Day” this week.  Students cycled through various stations designed to help them calm, relax, exercise, relieve stress and have fun!  Remember Hurricanes, that JOY, LAUGHTER, EXERCISE and just CALM BREATHING, can really help us get through life’s challenges in a healthy and optimistic way!  Great job Wellness Club and of course, to the leadership of Mrs. Fountain, our fearless Child & Youth Worker!

It’s finally here!  Best wishes to our Grade 8 Graduation Class of 2024 as they venture off to the nation’s capital in Ottawa on Tuesday, May 21st through to Thursday, May 23rd.   Their teachers have planned a packed itinerary of fun and learning experiences, to help our kids celebrate their years at H.T. and the great relationships they’ve built!  Have fun and be safe Hurricanes!

Last but certainly not least, please see the accompanying poster from Father Valentine who invites all families to join the parish on June 22nd to celebrate the Feast of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of our church!  There will be a mass at 3pm, followed by a multi-cultural meal and capped off by an entertaining talent show.  If your child would like to participate in the talent show, please fill out the attached FORM and email it back to the parish office!  Sounds like a terrific celebration of life, our faith and each other!

On that note, hoping whether you are seeking rest or adventure this weekend, you continue to take care of yourselves and each other.  We will see everyone back at Holy Trinity on Tuesday, May 21st

Have a fantastic looooonnnggggg weekend everyone!
