Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for March 4th - 8th, 2024

Happy weekend you AWESOME Hurricanes!

Well, March is here in a blink-of-an-eye!  As one of our students shared in our Oral Communications Festival this week, “whether you’re a billionaire, star athlete, celebrity, or just an average Joe, it doesn’t matter – time moves at the same rate, and whatever goes by we cannot take back.  So live your time as best as you can!”

On that note, please check out our attached Hurricane ‘WEEKLY’ Newsletter for March 4th – 8th, 2024 attached above.  And yes, March Break is on the horizon!

Thanks for everyone’s support of our Healthy Snack Program!  Whether you were able to donate online for our February 28th Pasta Lunch on PinkShirtDayCANADA.ca, or today with the LiveFREE Toonie Drive, the support was tremendous!  We are grateful and our young people will benefit from your generosity.

Please check out the final 2 webinars available for parents and caregivers, provided by the partnership between the Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic District School Boards, in collaboration with The Pine River Institute.  REGISTER @ https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_MXC1YidHRc-YWbGhk4Xz7g#/registration

And finally Hurricanes, don’t forget with a new month, comes a new Umbrella Skill.  The focus for March is Integrity

What is Integrity?

  • An inner sense of wholeness, where what we are doing is not separate from our beliefs
  • The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles
  • Sportsmanship
  • A regular pattern of behavior that is consistent with your values
  • Treating others with care
  • Honouring your word
  • The sincere presentation of yourself and your values to others
  • Doing the right thing even when nobody's looking.

Why is Integrity Important?

  • Improves the quality of our lives
  • Betters our performance
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Increases our trustworthiness and likelihood of making honest choices
  • Helps us make and keep good friends

Enjoy your weekend everyone!  Try to get out for some fresh air and sunshine.  We appreciate our amazing Hurricane Staff, Students and Families sooooo much!!!
