Hurricane 'WEEKLY' Newsletter for November 6th - 10th, 2023

Good afternoon you A-W-E-S-O-M-E Hurricanes!

We had a great week, certainly full of energy and excitement beginning on Monday with our Professor Jamz Dance-a-thon.  We hope everyone had fun and we’re still tallying up our donations.  So stay tuned for an update next week on that!  Tuesday was Halloween as you know, and we were able to gather as a community and share in some games, laughter and a costume parade at our Pep Rally!  Great job everyone.  Towards the end of the week, our energy turned to a more solemn one, with the turning of the month and a focus on All SAINTS Day, All SOULS Day and soon, REMEMBRANCE DAY.   Our teachers handed in their report cards and we will be sending them out soon, but we want to thank all of our educators and staff for the 2 months of hard work and energy they’ve put in to making Holy Trinity a fun, engaging and welcoming place to learn.  And to our students, these are progress reports, but as we reminded them at our assembly, keep SHOWING UP with a positive attitude ready to go, DO YOUR WORK to the best of your ability, and BE RESPECTFUL – kindness and character are #1…These 3 ingredients will always give you success, in school AND in life…guaranteed!

Have a wonderful weekend Hurricanes.  We invite you to practice the Umbrella Trait for November which is “empathy.”  We all have opinions, judgments, inferences, beliefs, biases, and our own positionality and intersectionality in life.  However, being “Christ for others” really requires the utmost form of selflessness, which is to try and understand the thoughts, feelings and challenges of another human being.  If anything, GIVE WHAT YOU NEED!  If you need understanding, give it first.  If you need respect, give it first.  If you need a second chance, give someone else a second chance.  Empathy always works like a boomerang!

Take care of yourselves and each other Hurricanes!
